Scammers are spoofing bank phone numbers to rob victims
It can be a very convincing trick… “You can check the number in your display online sir. Today I receive call from this number too, same story as all, use the UOB credit card at klia2, I said I no any deal with UOB, then he said need stop the transaction. I said I will call to UOB by myself then he hang up, i call the number shown at UOB website, they told me I dun have any record with UOB.
So, Please stay calm and call the number shown on official website to verify, do not continue give out any other personal information or call any number they ask to call.
SCAM CALL, Pls be aware
I received a call from this number, he is Lam Wai Hong, claim he from UOB and I had used my card at KLIA2 Nikon Camera Shop for RM2188. I ask him for the credit card number and this is not the number i have. I told him that I will call to UOB card center to clarify and he hang up the phone.

I received the same number called and he was menfioned from UOB bank just now. And it's the same SCAM tactic and luckyly i have clarify with UOB before call 03-27883514 (which is not a Bank Negara number)
Just got called from this number, same story, have you swap your affinbank card 3k++ at johor? blar blar blar..?
then i said YES!!
he hang up the phone. :)
SAME STORY SAME SKILLS HAPPEN TODAY, CALL FROM AFFIN BANK JOHORE, GUYS BEWARE OF THIS FRAUD
i was shock at first knowing my info may be forged into fake credit card case after answering this phone. this guy almost framed me as i do not have experience in being con. luckily i have a habit of checking every suspicious call number in google n found out from this site it was a scam, i'm so thankful n relieved.
the tactic is the same as below commented. even the outstanding balance...!

I have reported to Affin Bank and confirm it is a scam. Affin Bank also reported to Bank Negara for this fraud. Affin Bank advice not to respond to this call number or given so call "Bank Negara" number.

I received a call with soft voice from a gentleman who talk in mandarin this afternoon from +603 2558 7766 who claim he is from Affin Bank and asked me to confirm a credit card transaction RM3k+ in Johor Jaya. I told him I never deal with Affin Bank. He spell my name and NRIC number and said a Master Gold card with limit RM10k was applied in Johor Jaya then he pretended shock that I'm not the applicant and asked whether I lost my NRIC before. Then he help me to stop the transaction and stop the card.
Again he said the credit card has two transactions with value RM6311.33 not pay yet. If I'm not the card user, I need to call +603 2788 3514 to Bank Negara Fraud Case Investigation Department, tell them your case and details, then Bank Negara will inform Affin Bank and Affin Bank will cancel the outstanding transaction.
Do not believe the call, it definitely a scam. Bank will send us the letter with seal (similar to KWSP Statement) to ask for the outstanding balance, we are suppose to call the bank to ask for it, the bank will not call us to tell us the outstanding because bank happy enough if you not pay and they just charge interest. Beware of scam!
Received call from this number saying the same things.. Please be alert with this scams!
same thing happened to me. im working in kl but he said i applied this card last year november in JB branch. still got understanding amount of 6k plus.
