Scammers are spoofing bank phone numbers to rob victims
It can be a very convincing trick… “You can check the number in your display online sir. You’ll see I’m really calling from your bank.” That is, of course, if you are unaware that phone numbers can be spoofed. Then again, they wouldn’t be successful scammers if they weren’t convincing. If you suggest calling them…

I just received this call from a Malay gentlemen who named correctly, but I have his only English answer "Customer Service" after asking 6 time "Who is this calling from." I wanted to know which company in fact, and eventually he gave up talking to me.
I just received a phone call from this number saying he is from UOB. He got my name and IC correctly. Using the same trick, saying that I had made a purchase at Nikon in KLIA2. He hung up the phone after confirming my Identity Card (IC) number.
Feeling a bit suspicious, I called to UOB to double check with them, which turns out that the call could be a scam call.
Please be aware that by confirming our IC, we, sometimes, expose our identity for Identify Theft.
Received this call 5 minutes ago. Suspected scam. Please beware. He told me he is from KL HQ and transaction is ongoing in JB. He can mention my IC, Address and card number.
