KALAMAZOO COUNTY, Mich. — The Kalamazoo County Sheriff's Office issued a warning about an ongoing scam through a Monday Facebook post.
Had same experience. Received a call from 03-23688888 named Mohd Nizam. he claimed that he called from Affin Bank Credit card depatment. Told me to confirm a transaction of more than RM15k in JB. When I denied of any transaction in JB, he asked me to call Bank Negara at 03216837667 to lodge a report within 24 hrs so that I don't have to pay for the amount. I asked him what is Affin Bank Credit Card department planning to for this transaction ? He said he will only act on this after I lodge a report with Bank Negara. Rubbish from someone calling from Affin Bank. I just ignored him but made a policy report.
Pls take precaution on these type of Macau scam
Thanks
Got a call from this guy as well at 8am, said his name is Izwandy. He said that an OCBC card was being used to swipe for a RM6000 purchase in Lazo Diamond in KLIA2. He got my name and IC number correctly and that an OCBC card under my name was registered to an address in Taman Molek, Johor Baru. (I never lived in JB)
And then he asked me to call this number 03-21683767 and that it was a Bank Negara number. Of course I googled BNM and this is not the number.
A few hours later I got a call from 03-21683767 saying that they are from Bank Negara. I pretended and said "Oh ye ke? Saya di Bank Negara sekarang" and that fella hung up.
I don't hold OCBC card and someone said that he is from OCBC HQ KL and apparently i have swipe a RM6000 in Woodland Singapore for buying Acer comptuters stuffs. He read out my name, IC number and ask me to go report to Bank Negara and give the the detail of its "Bank Negara Bahagian Laporan Tel; 03-21683767". When i called it, someone will answer the phone and ask me wait call from another people from other department. The phone number i received is 03-27732898 and he was speaking Chinese and say no 3rd party and noise and ask me speak Chinese.
When do our court got use Chinese language?
Are you kidding me?
I have just received the same call awhile ago. Same malay guy some of you have received by the name of Mohd Iswandy/Iswandy. I was told that my identity was misused to apply OCBC credit card and he read my IC number correctly but wrong address. My outstanding is RM6k plus. Credit Card address registered to 12, Lorong 3A/2 Taman Molek Indah, 81100 JB
Yes he asked me to do the same to report to Bank Negara as well. Thanks for sharing info here.
this number called me few times, i googled first and found this page.
not wasting time answer his call !
tq guys
Same story as everybody else. I don't hold OCBC card. This Mohamad Ifwandy says he is from OCBC HQ KL and apparently i have swipe a RM6000 in Woodland Singapore while i have a outstanding balance of RM4k+. Card credit limit in only RM10k. He read out my name, IC number, and home address correctly (My parents home actually. Have not stay there for 10 years). Ask me to go report to Bank Negara and give the the detail of its "Bank Negara Bahagian Laporan Tel; 03-21683767". So please beware
Just received a call while I was making "business" in toilet. That scumbag told me I just made 6k transaction while in fact I don't have any OCBC account. Then he didn't give up and mention my IC for verification. Surprisingly he got my IC number correctly. Then I turned up frustrated with that persisting , while I'm not yet done with my own . So I just ignored him and ended the call.
The same happened to me. And, I have no account with OCBC.
The caller tried two attempted & on 2nd attempted I answered as the same storyline used. My full name & ic details was read out. Mentioned rm6k & the cc was approve at jb. The guy also mentioned two ocbc sent to me but I didn't receive. Therefore I suspected scam caller. New tactic used.Caution guy.
Received a call from a guy this morning, named Mohd Azahar, claiming to be from OCBC HQ in KL, saying that the bank detected a transaction in Woodlands Sg for amount of RM6k+ and asked me to verify. I said it's not mine as I don't have an account with OCBC. He read out my full name, IC and also address on my IC - all info correct, but I reiterated I don't have an account/cc with OCBC. He asked then how did the card get approved if it wasn't me - he said the card was applied and approved through OCBC Tmn Molek JB. I said he should call and ask Tmn Molek and not ask me! He wanted to ask me more questions but I doubted him. So he gave me his name, his OCBC staff code and his IC (I presume these are fake too, but I'm surprised at how prepared he was). He gave me a statement to give to Bank Negara and asked me to lodge a report with Bank Negara. He also provided me with the Mastercard Gold number, the outstanding amount, the Singapore transaction amount, etc. I said I could just go straight to Bank Negara where I am, he said I can't because the case is in KL (although he said the cc was through JB and the transaction was detected in Acer Computer Store, Woodlands, Singapore). Have spoken to Bank Negara and OCBC and was advised to lodge a report. Hope others will also be aware.
