Why phone scams are so difficult to tackle
Many of us now refuse to answer telephone calls from an unknown number, for fear that it could be a scam. And we dread receiving a text message, purportedly from our bank or a delivery firm, again due to concerns that it might be from fraudsters.

Same story as few other before me:
Got a call from this number. An South Asian male asked in English "Is this " - where he used my real name. I said yes, at which point he said "Thank you" and then hung up.
A male rang me asked for me by name. I confirmed it was me and he simply hung up.
South Asian male called purporting to be called Adnan called, via several redirects through the company, trying to get my mobile number to send a tracking number for a P&C letter... didn't trust. Referred to a company called Golphin Couriers

called our Brussels office trying to get the direct phone number for one of our VP's in the uSA
8 Nov - exactly the same call. Referred to a company called Golphin having sent a parcel for me - and the courier company having an office in Leeds.
An attempted scam where they say they have a parcel for you and want you to confirm your direct line.
They are using your website to find out phone numbers and then working out who is in the office/on holiday etc. The next stage is to send spoof emails to staff saying “I’m on holiday and need these funds moved asap…” etc.
