Are you experiencing an increase in the number of "local" calls to your home or cell phone? You’re not alone. This phenomenon is called “neighbor spoofing” and it’s a caller ID spoof strategy being used by phone scam artists in an attempt to get people to answer the phone.
This is an NHS surveying call. A 96 year old relative went into hospital for one night and these people keep ringing her number to get a survey response. She's 96 and cannot hear very well so they just keep trying. It's quite distressing and since the number can't be dialled back to reach an actual person, we can't seem to stop them.
