WhatsApp to introduce ‘classifiers’ to identify spam calls
Following the inundation of spam calls that seem to originate from international numbers, WhatsApp’s engineering teams have moved to introduce new “classifiers” which can identify these calls and mark them as spam, sources in the know told ET.

This company is persistently calling me trying to sell me advertising on the back of medical appointment cards. The surgery they are quoting has not asked them to do this and know nothing about it and the company is trying to contact me using old business details.
This is clearly spam telemarketing which is less than truthful with what they are selling and when told that we do not want to deal with them and to stop calling my mobile number are very rude and hang up.
The same company then rings back again less than an hour later.
