Scamwatch is warning Australians to be wary of an online scam pretending to be from the Australian Boarder Force. The Australian Competition and Consumer Commission said a recorded message claiming to be from the Australian Boarder Force (ABF) is being sent around.
Dude with Indian sub-continent accent called me 1051hrs today claiming to be with the IRS: they needed to talk to me about an outstanding warrant with my name on it regarding tax fraud.
I told him to send me something in writing as they must have my address if they are the IRS. He said he would and then he hung up.
Unless the USPS delivers something to prove me wrong, this is a SCAM.
