The service was created in 2011 in the Czech Republic. It is an online forum where the users can share their experience with phone numbers, both annoying (mostly telemarketing, surveys) and useful (e.g. couriers, offices)..
Since the beginning, the service has been received very well, which led to localization into more languages. Nowadays, the forum exists in more than 20 languages and 34 countries throughout the world.
The service is intended for anyone who wants to identify the owner of an unknown phone number. The creators of the forum have also recently created the mobile app Call Insider for Android phones. This app, which is connected to the database of the website reverse-lookup.co.uk, also allows users to automatically block telemarketing numbers.
Another Survey call. Legitimate or not? Who knows. Not the usual Indian voice which was a novelty (very British). I don't actually mind doing surveys if they are for legitimate research purposes. The problem is who is to know the difference with so many scam calls and surveys designed to extract information from you to simply sell to you being made. Either way phone companies will probably allow annoying or even scam calls on purpose so that they may cleverly sell you a product that they have created to prevent you receiving these calls (at a price). It is likely that phone companies can easily stop such calls if they wanted to but then they can't make the extra money out of you. If I am wrong then phone companies leave a comment to prove me wrong.
